Panel License

This license applies to every mock jury panel purchased from Venue 159. It is part of our terms of use. "You" means the individual who bought the panel and the law firm or organization that individual works for. "Matter" means the single case, claim, or controversy for which you bought the panel.

What you may do

• Read, print, annotate, and mark up the panel as much as you want.
• Share it internally with anyone in your firm working on that matter — partners, associates, paralegals, staff.
• Share it with co-counsel, a jury consultant, a trial-graphics vendor, a focus-group facilitator, or a testifying or consulting expert retained on that matter, so long as they use it only for that matter and are told about this license.
• Use it to build voir dire questions, run a mock trial or focus group, rehearse an opening or closing, or brief your client on venue risk.
• Keep it indefinitely. This license does not expire.

What you may not do

• Resell it, sublicense it, or give it away, in whole or in part, to anyone outside the circle described above.
• Publish it — post it publicly, file it in the public record as if it were data about real people, put it on a website, or include it in a CLE handout, article, or marketing piece without our written permission.
• Use it as training data. No panel, in whole or in part, may be used to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or ground any machine-learning or generative model, and no panel may be uploaded to a service whose terms grant it training rights in what you upload.
• Reuse it for a different matter. A second matter needs a second panel. Buy another county and you will not be sent one you already have.
• Represent the people in it as real. They are not. Do not present a panel, or anything derived from it, as an actual jury list, an actual venire, actual juror questionnaires, or research on identifiable people.
• Strip out or alter the disclaimer that appears in the panel.

What you own

Your notes, your voir dire questions, your trial strategy, and anything else you write while working with a panel are yours. The panel text itself, the county data, and the venue model stay ours.

If the license is broken

Material breach ends this license and your right to keep using the panel, without a refund. We would rather send an email than a letter, so if you are unsure whether something is allowed, ask.
